Akiba Announces Transition Plan

laura@elefantasmagoria.com Student Life

Recently, the Board of Management of Akiba School made a strategic decision to phase-out Akiba Secondary School in order to use the existing space and resources to strengthen and enhance the Primary School.

Strengthening Akiba Primary School

The Board and leadership of the school recognized that Akiba could better serve students, teachers, and families if it focuses exclusively on high quality Primary Education. Change is rarely easy, and this new decision affects quite a number of families. Nonetheless, Akiba School and a team of partners are committed to helping to provide as smooth a transition as possible.

Over the past few weeks, the management of Akiba School held meetings with teachers, parents, and students, and a Management Committee including international partners has helped to map out a transition plan. We are pleased to announce that all Akiba scholarship students are eligible to continue their studies, and that we’ve successfully identified several high schools to accommodate our existing students.

Top Quality Christian Education

Starting in 2020 we expect to begin a series of improvements to Akiba’s facilities, and we hope to grow our Primary School enrolment to meet the growing demand for quality education. We look forward to strengthening Akiba Primary School and building it into an academic leader in Westlands Constituency, serving students from a variety of backgrounds with the highest quality Christian education.
